In honor of Older Americans Month, the city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Arts Commission present the 26th annual “Celebrating Life!” fine arts competition. This prestigious event showcases and honors the incredible creative talents of Southern Nevada artists ages 50 and better.
Community members, art enthusiasts, and supporters are invited to a special opening reception to meet the artists, view the selected masterpieces, and find out who takes home this year’s top honors.

Competition Awards & Prizes
A panel will award cash prizes and recognition across multiple fine art disciplines, including a grand prize for the top submission:
- Best of Show: $500
- First Place: $250
- Second Place: $150
- Third Place: $100
- Honorable Mention: Commemorative Plaque
Exhibition Galleries & Timeline
This year’s distinguished guest juror, Lolita DeVelay, has curated the final selection from an array of media, including watercolor, oil painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media.
- The Main Exhibition: Features the juried winning selections and will be on display in the Charleston Heights Arts Center Ballroom from May 29 through September 10, 2026.
- Salon des Refusés Exhibit: To ensure a wide range of senior creativity is celebrated, non-juried submissions will be beautifully displayed in the main Arts Center Gallery during the exact same summer dates.
